What is a Gap Year and who should apply?

If you are a dancer who recently graduated high school then The Academy for International Movement Studies Gap Year could be a perfect addition to your life experience. Simply stated, this is a “hands-on” dance program that offers the highest level of leadership, academic and logistics development for students in between high school and college.  If you want to travel, broaden your cultural horizons, and improve your dance and academic performance skills, this is the opportunity for you!

Goals for our Gap Year Program:

• To have fun in a positive and rewarding environment.

• To offer hands-on leadership skills in a fashion that best prepares students for colleges and future careers.

• To explore and learn from rich and vibrant cultures.

• To develop ambassador skills on local, regional, and international levels.

• To academically challenge and inspire students.

• To lead via negotiating international logistics planning.

Our Gap Year Program gives students the opportunity to take advantage of cultural and educational offerings within each region we explore in a fashion that is both inspiring and challenging.
